I have recently noticed that I missing some things in this folder. For
example, Entertainment is empty. I have tried going to add/remove components
& that doesn't change anything.

Is there something else I can try? What else might I be missing?

Restore Accessories and System Tools

Thanks but while it seems to have restored the system folder - Communication
& Entertainment are still empty. Next step?

Ran the Accessories Restore and got error msg "Run-Time error "70":
Permission Denied" when I selected to just restore the current user profile.
When I select all profiles, no error message displayed, but problem is not
fixed in my profile. Have tried uninstalling Accessories reinstalling in
Safe Mode, but it does not fix it. What is going on? This is just
silly...........

thx

Any suggestions on newsreader? Went to interbulletin.com and pasted

microsoft.public.windowsxp.help_and_support

and nothing is found????????

Yes, I created a folder and saved a text file there and then retrieved it.

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Start Menu\Programs\test

Try creating it here:

%userprofile%\Start Menu\Programs\

If not, reinstall Accessories as per Q891893:

To remove Accessories, follow these steps:

1.In Control Panel, start Add or Remove Programs.
2.In the left pane, click Add/Remove Windows Components.
3.In the Components box, click Accessories and Utilities, and then click
Details.
4.Click to clear the Accessories check box, click OK, and then click Next.
5.Click Finish.

To add Accessories again, follow these steps:

1.In Control Panel, start Add or Remove Programs.
2.In the left pane, click Add/Remove Windows Components.
3.In the Components box, click Accessories and Utilities, and then click
Details.
4.Click to select the Accessories check box, click OK, and then click Next.
5.Click Finish.
