I just did the update for Windows Vista. Now I can't access any of my
programs I was using, ie. Microsoft Office, Contacts for my email,
etc. I can see the file Windows.old, but I can't get any of them to
operate. What can I do to get those up and running again? Any advice
would be appreciated! Hopefully it's an easy fix =)

You need to reinstall the programs from the installation media (CD/DVD,
installable executable downloaded from the Internet). Then you can copy
over the data in Windows.Old.
