I have two Windows XP Home Edition PC's on a peer-to-peer network.

For ease of reference I will call them A and B.

On PC A I can access the shared folder area on PC B with no problems, if I
start to do something with in the folder however, I am usually thrown out
with a Explorer.exe error message and as a result explorer resets itseld.

Now on PC B if I use My Network Places and access the shared folder area on
PC B the exact same thing happens. But I access the Shared Folder on PC B
via My Computer there is no problem.

I have switched the router off to check to see if there is a problem with
the cable but the fault continues, therefore I must assume there is
something wrong with this folder on PC B.

Does anyone have an idea as to what is going on and how I may fix it.

Thanks

What does the error message say when you're thrown out?

Try un-sharing the folder, rebooting, and re-sharing it.

I have unshared the folder and rebooted as suggested but the problem
persists. It is also now occuring on PC A as well when I access it's shared
documents folder through My Network Places.

The errror message states the Windows Explorer has encounter a problem a
needs to close etc etc...

On looking ats ome of the tech details for the error it just states the
Windows Explorer version number and a huge amount of tech data which I
submit to MS.

I don't know whether I should reinstall XP on both systems or not as I am
nor sure if this will correct the problem.

Incidentally when running the Home Network Wizard I selected the option for
these PC's connect to the internet through another PC or residential
gateway. They actually are both connected to an ADSL router, I ain't sure if
this is the option I should have selected.

Any ideas.....
