Accessing "Protected" Folders Over the Network

I am running Windows XP Pro on two networked computers at
home. I have shared the C Drive on both computers. Each
computer can access the C drive of the other computer,
either through My Network Places, or by mapping the drive.

Everything works perfectly, and as far as I can tell,
works as expected. However, I can access all folders on
the other computer, EXCEPT Windows, Program Files, and
Documents and Settings\<user-name>.

Is there some way to grant access to these folders over
the network? I know it must be possible, because PC A
was able to access these folders on PC B (but not vice
versa) until I reinstalled Win XP Pro PC B. :-( Mind
you, I didn't do anything specific on PC B to allow this;
it just started happening.

All help will be appreciated.

Cheers,

To remove those folder restrictions, disable "simple file sharing" on
both computers:

1. Open My Computer and click Tools | Folder Options | View.
2. Scroll to the end of the advanced settings.
3. Un-check "Use simple file sharing (recommended).

G'day Steve,

Thanks for the prompt reply. Simple File Sharing was
indeed checked on both computers. I have unchecked it on
both computers, and now everything is working as I want
it.

I've read the articles you suggested.

Thanks very much for the help.

Cheers,
