I am trying to intergrate 3 different email accounts from Yahoo, Hotmail and
a Microsoft Outlook account through my College into Windows Mail. I have
tried at least 5 times to set the yahoo, I follow all the prompts and get
the message that I have been succesful with adding the account. When I try
to send or import my mail, a message box titled "Windows Security" appears
and asks me to type my username and pw to the yahoo account (which I do) but
once I hit enter, this box just keeps re-popping up.
My anti virus etc is through Windows One Care.
I have tried to add my accademic account which is through Outlook, but cant
find the POP3 or SMTP information to fill in the appropriate boxes in
Windows mail.

US-based free Yahoo accounts do not have POP access,
only web access. Also, Windows Mail does not accommodate
Hotmail. If you want Hotmail access in your email program,
upgrade to Windows Live Mail:

As far as your college mail settings, check their website for
directions, or tell us the college name and we will look it up
for you.

I don't think it works on 64-bit Vista or 64-bit WinXP yet.

No, Microsoft is still developing the 64-bit installer.
Hopefully it will be released soon.

Ahhh.. crap..

Thank you both for the answer.

In the meantime I got Outlook 2003 installed again. Now since I don't have
OE on this comp seems I can't import the inbox to Outlook2003??! I got the
old .dbx files from OE but it will not import anything... not even the .wab.

Any ideas on this?

TIA

BUENO PARECE QUE TODOS ESTAMOS EN LAS MISMAS, ES DECIR ABANDONADOS A NUESTRA
SUERTE HASTA QUE MICROSOFT DESCUBRA CÓMO HACER PARA ACTUALIZARNOS.

LO CIERTO ES QUE ESTAMOS DES-SINCRONIZADOS, TENEMOS PRODUCTOS NUEVOS Y A LA
VEZ OBSOLETOS.

OJALA MICROSOFT, PROVEDORA DE WINDOWS MOBILE Y DE VISTA HAGAN POSIBLE LA
CALIDAD DE LA QUE GOZÁBAMOS ANTES.

TAMBIÉN SE APLICA ESTE RECLAMO A HP POR NO HACER NADA POR QUIENES HAN
CONFIADO EN ELLOS AL ADQUIRIR SUS PRODUCTOS.

SALUDOS.

WinMail will import from Outlook 2003 if it is installed. It will only
import from the PST file Outlook is currently using.

To import from Outlook Express DBX files, see
http://www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#oe2wm

No no.. the other way around

I got the .dbx files from OE. nice and not corrupted, with read-only off.
I can import them in WMail... but from there I can't import them to
Outlook2003(Or export them to Exchange format) ( the error I get is "The
export could not be performed. An error occurred while initializing MAPI").
Also I can't import the .dbx files directly to Outlook 2003("The mail folder
could not be opened. If another application is using this file, please close
it and try again" --- well nothing uses that folder with .dbx files in
it).

Going nuts here...

That is very confusing. Are you trying to export from WinMail to Outlook or
import from Outlook. Please keep import and export straight.
