I am thinking of changing my mail client from OE to Thunderbird. The
downside of Thunderbird as I see it is its inability to configure a
http mail account. This will not let me access HotMail.

Is there any freeware stuff that will let me access HotMail as an IMAP
account?

Thanx/nsp

THere's HotPop but that lets you access it as a standard POP3 account

If you are talking about Hotmail Popper then it is no longer freeware.
I mentioned this in a post yesterday. Hotmail Popper 1.0 and 2.0 were
freeware but the author no has attempted to rid the web of the freeware
versions. Hopefully you can still find it somewhere.

You can try Mr Postman
http://mrpostman.sourceforge.net/
Only downside is that it needs Java Runtime Environment to run. You can get
JRE from http://java.sun.com
I remember 2-3 similar applications but can't remember their names right
now. Maybe google can help.
