I have two XP Pro computers networked through a router
with a shared broadband connection. I have both
computer's hard drives (C:) set to sharing. The hard
drive folders can be accessed, however none of the
subfolders such as Program Files can be opened. When I
try to open them, I get a message saying:

"\\Dustin\c\Program Files is not accessible. You might
not have permission to use this network resource.
Contact the administrator of this server to find out if
you have access permissions.

Access is denied."

The users logged on to both computers are administrators,
and the problem is identical on both machines. Anyone
know whats up?

You can get around this by sharing the Program Files folder. Also, you may
want to check in your sharing for C drive that you have also ticked that
"Allow network users to change my files" is ticked.

I have the same problem as Rich; However, I have tried sharing the program folder, and had the entire drive shared. My frustration is that this worked well prior to the fall... but I've not been able to get it to work since then. Were there any XP updates that may have affected this? I even changed the name of the computer (to a shorter name - Sony), removed all the shares, set them back up, and rebooted frequently. I can see other computers, can get into another computer that has XP with a shared folder, but no one can see me any more, nor share my printer, hard drives, or other items.
