| You still need to use W98SE to run legacy DOS programs that use COM
| ports. XPpro and Cmd prompt running programs that use COMx: just don't
| work.
| Just like 5.25" floppies no longer work under XP.
Hmmm
First, to answer the man's question: Yes, Windows Vista can access FAT32
disks.
Secondly, there are some applications, yet, that won't run when installed on
NTFS, which is why I have a 50gb FAT32 partition set aside. Makes a great C
Drive.
Third: Where do you get the idea that Windows XP doesn't support the use of
5.25" floppy drives? As long as your BIOS supports them, WinXP supports
them just fine. At least it supports my Teac FD-55GFR. (1.2MB) Can't
imaging that my drive is anything special to XP, so I assume it supports
othe 5.25" FDD...
I used to keep all my data files on a FAT32 disk, simply because I still
like running win98 for a few things, and I want access to those files from
there.
I also use 2 Serial (COM) ports on Windows XP. Both work great.
Not sure, exactly, where you get your information, but it's very mistaken.
