I re-installed XP Professional on my C: drive. After installation I am not
able to access any of my programs such as MS Office, Adobe, Skype,
Thunderbird etc.

The programs are still under the Program Files on my C: drive.

I worked out how to copy my Favorites into IE but cannot figure out how to
access my programs.
Regards,
Alan

Install them like new.

When you installed Windows XP anew (fresh - not a repair installation
obviously) you got rid of all the DLLs and Registry Entries that the
programs you speak of would have had to help run them/help integrate them
into Windows XP. What that means is that you need to install them again.
Chances are you have lost your settings in many of them as well.

In other words - if you install the OS fresh - you will likely have to
install all the programs fresh too - very few are truly standalone anymore -
most utilize DLLs and registry values to install and maintain themselves and
so their installation base is smaller.
