Accessing data after reinstalling XP

I reinstalled XP professional and now can not access some data folders.
No matter how I am logged in (as Admin or as myself) I get an "access
denied" error when I try and open the folder. It seems as if the folders
are dis-associated with all users. How can I reset the permissions on
the folders so I can acess them again?

Thanks,

Katherine Schmitt
