Accessing App from server over network is slow??

Hello,

I have a very simple network with one workgroup and all
are networking fine.

I have one machine with win2kpro which has an application
on it that all my other 10 computer users access over the
network from the server.

For some reason it is really slow openning the application
and getting data. The app was written using Visual Basic
and it is called "Retail Pro" POS software.

Can anyone suggest some help..

10/100 network cards with a 3com office hub that has 16
ports.

I am also Supporting a client that has Retail Pro 8. One machine
serves another on the same network. The client machine crawls slow
when running the retail pro app. The network connection is fast with
10ms ping time between the client and server. It does not seem to be
a connectivity problem any ideas?
