Is there a way to change the size of the icons in the
quick start menu on the task bar? The single click
buttons to the right of the start button are a great help
to my mother but i am unable to make them larger in xp
home edition.

First, right click an empty area on the Taskbar and make sure that Lock Taskbar is not selected. Right click an empty space on the Quick Launch toolbar and select View/Large Icons.

If the icons are still not large enough, right click the Desktop and select Properties/Appearance Tab/Advanced Button. Under Item, click Icon and increase the size there. (Note: this is a global setting and will increase the size of all icons)Click OK/Apply to see the results.
