I have an existing XP database which I've been requested to deploy across
the web.

This is not something I've done before, and have no idea where to start.

Can anyone please help!

Thanks.

If you are expecting to get thousands of hits per day, especially if they
are concentrated into a small time frame, Access is not a good choice for
web development. I have sites which get a few thousand hits per day, spread
out throughout the day which do just fine.

Stay simple, i.e. do not try to do too much on one form. Subforms are out,
they don't work in an asp environment. Typically, instead of a subform,
you'd just move to a new page and enter your data. Get yourself a book on
asp and build some asp forms to access your data. I use Front-Page and
Notepad to build my web. It's not very hard, but it is different than
working with Access forms.

Thanks for this info.

Basically the database needs to be on the web so that the clients' employees
can access the information remotely. I've suggested that maybe this is not
the best solution, and that they should look at some form of remote access
to their network, which would then in turn provide accessibility to other
files & applications on the network.

The number of users is only about 5 or 6, and there wouldn't be that much
traffic.

Thanks.
