Access XP linked to data database on Server 2003 EXTREMELY SLOOOW

I have an Access XP database linked to tables in an Access
XP data database. The data database is on a windows 2003
server. Opening a form which has 4 simple combo boxes,
each of which uses 2 tables with fewer than 200 records.
The form takes about 45 seconds to open. Putting the
exact same data database on another workstation or on a
win 2k or earler server, the form opens in less than 3
seconds.

Any ideas on getting the Win 2003 server to speed up would
be helpful

Best collection of information on multiuser performance and avoiding
corruption in the multiuser environment that I know about is at MVP Tony
Toews' site, http://www.granite.ab.ca/accsmstr.htm. Take a look there and
see if any of the suggestions are helpful.

Just one thought -- could it be that this particular computer's connection
to the network limits it to a lower data rate than the others? The
difference between a 100 MBPS connection and a 10 MBPS connection can often
be _obvious_. In one case, I ran a remote DB over an old 4 MBPS network, and
to say the difference in performance was "obvious" would be an
understatement.

Arcnet? That is kinda old and slow.

Thanks for the reply, however based upon tests, hardware
does not seem to be the issue here. As I stated in my
original message, I can move the data database to one of
the workstations on the same network and performance is
acceptable.
