Access Violation c0000005 in Outlook 2000

My wife downloaded and installed IncrediMail and was using
it until one day her Outlook started generating errors. I
uninstalled IncrediMail and still got the Exception Number
c0000005 (Access Violation) error. The actual error
says "OUTLOOK has generated errors and will close. An
error log is being generated."

I have turned everything off and just run Outlook and get
the same error message when I click on an Email or a
Contact in my Contact List. I have tried uninstalling
Outlook and reinstalling it and get the same info complete
with emails and address books so it is not being fully
uninstalled. I have tried chaging folders, locations and
everything but the info still comes back along with the
error message.

DrWatson says this: App (pib=276)
Exception Number c0000005 (access violation)
In the fault it says :
Fault 3a61f688 8b08 mdv ecx [eax] ds:0000000 ???????

Any ideas on how to completely uninstall Outlook or how to
correct this would be greatly appreciated. I hate to
format and reinstall, but that is my last option.

Thanks,

Mike

Try resetting the Toolbar by renaming the outcmd.dat file to outcmd.old. You
can rename it back if it doesn't work.

I wish I had good news but I don't. I could not find the
outcmd.dat file or anything close to it. I do have on the
View to show all files. I even tried to uninstall Outlook
(Office) and re-install a different version of Office but
had the same results. I don't see any .dbx files either.
Where does Outlook Keep the Inbox, Outbox, etc, any idea?

Mike

The outcmd.dat file should be located in the 'C:\Documents and Settings\{user}\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook' directory. I'm having the c0000005 - access violation error in Outlook also. I tried renaming this file, and it didn't fix the problem. I too, have reinstalled Outlook to no success. Oh, by the way, the Outlook files are .pst files, located in the 'C:\Documents and Settings\{user}\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook' directory. Should be an Outlook and an Archive file. If you find out a fix for this let me know.
