Access violation at kernel32

When I try opening certain programs I keep getting various
Access violiation at kernel32 messages. Then it gives me
a number such as 3284:15541577

The number of these seems to be increasing each day.

How do I fix this?

Although it could have other causes, this is one of the symptoms of
infection by the Swen virus, which has been extremely active lately.
See your antivirus vendor's web site for information and a removal tool
(or instructions); or just go here:
