Hi all

We have an Access 2000 database, split front and back end.
Back end on Win2003 server, front ends on Win98 and NT4 clients.
We are looking to upgrade all clients to XP Pro.
Are there any compatibility issues I should be aware of between Access and
XP Pro SP1 or SP2 running in this environment?

TIA

Phil

Hi,
Sounds like all you are doing is upgrading the operating system on the
client machines. That should not be a problem as far as Access is concerned
but I would read everything you can find about XP pro SP2 before using it.

Thanks for response.
Sorry but my post is misleading! We are moving to Office 2003 as well on
the clients.
I have heard of issues with XP SP2, but was not aware that Office
(specifically Access) was affected.
Any more thoughts on Office 2003/SP2

TIA

Phil

Phil,
I am not conversant with Office 2003 so I cannot comment.

I recall seeing a number of posts on this subject and my general perception
is that there shouldn't be any problem with compatibility between Access
2000 and Access 2003
unless you have two versions on one machine. In which case there
are some precautions to take.

You might try a search of the group for "compatibility" or "Access 2000" or
some such.

Sorry I can't be more help.

Mike
