Access too slow thru dial-up connection

I have a Access 2000 multiuser database, split into a
front-end and a back-end. It works fine for in house users
but it is very slow for users outside the company. The on
field users are using either a dial-up connection or a DSL
but very slow. I am looking for a solution to this
problem, make it faster for the on field users. Would
upsizing to SQL Server (ADP project) solve this problem?
Or is there another solution?

Thanks
Hedi

That is exactly what terminal server is for...remote users. It enables them
to use applications like thye are sittng in the local office.

For instance: I have a client in Dallas with a pretty healthy Access db
(100+MB), and the 3 users in El Paso all connect to it from TS. There is
one machine in Dallas running the TS Server software which has the Access
front-end on it, and the back end is on my server.

All my El Paso users need is a workstation and the TS client
software/license. Don't even need Access.
