Access to SQL Server 2000 remotely

I have installed SQL Server at my home computer. I can access from anothe
computer over internet. But from my company, I can't.

I talk to IT administrator, but he doesn't understand a lot abou this issue.
Any help?

What th IT should do to I have access?

Probably the company's firewall is blocking the port 1433. You don't see a
lot of companies today without a firewall. Ask your network administrator,
not your IT administrator.

Yes, you can set up the SQL-Server to listen on another port; however, the
company's firewall is probably block *all* ports excerpt a few ones used for
other things like the port 80 for HTTP. There is also the possibilities
that you will have to go through a proxy for security measures or that you
are located on a static sub-network and that you will have to etablish a
route or whatever else.

In all cases, you have to consult with your network administrator.
