Hi,
How can I access my local data through terminal services?
I need to access info in my documents or my c: drive and
somehow attach it to my outlook email within terminal
services. Thanks for your help.

If you are running a Windows 2003 server, then you can check off "local
drives" in the RDP client (make sure you have the 5.2 RDP client) and that
will work.

If you are running a Win2K server, there is no way to directly access your
local drives that I am aware of - (there may be some 3rd party stuff
though...)

We have the same issue here and I was able to resolve it by downloading some
shareware - a great little Terminal Services "copy/paste" tool. With this,
you can copy doucments from the TS and they will be automatically pasted
into a dir on your local machine, that you configure and vice versa...

It works great, and should solve your problems. It's from Analog X and is
called TSDropCopy

Here is a link to their download page... www.analogx.com

Hope this helps...

Thanks Brad. I'll definetly take a look into this. Did
you install it on both the server and client side or just
the client side?

CJ

You install it on both the TS and the client. WHen you install on the TS,
make sure your session is in install mode "change user /install" from a
command prompt and then change back to application mode after 'change user
/execute" (there is a space before the "/").

One little problem I noticed on the server that you may or may not run into
was that it started the dropcopy app twice when I logged on to the TS. The
dropcopy will not work if it is running twice - therefore you either remove
it from each users startup group or from the 'all users' startup group.
Likely just a little installation bug - remember this thing is free!.
