I have an application made with Access 2 ( the old
access ) that exports data from a form in Access to
Excel. It always worked fine. Recently I used it in a
machine with XP HOME, Access 2 and Excel 2000. It worked
fine.

When I install that application in a machine with WIN
2000 pro Access 2 and Excel 2000 It doesn't works !!!

The error is 285 - The other application won't perform
the DDE method or operation you attempted.

Has anyone an idea of what's going on ???

The code in Access 2 uses "poke" to transfer data from
form to Excel.

Thanks.

Check the Tools/ Options of the target Excel application, and ensure that
Ignore DDE requests is OFF.

Check the System topic for valid Topics (I forget the syntax now), but I
cannot see that the host OS would change which topics/ commands are legal.

Now Tim, answering DDE questions is a bit like saying, "I remember when
Queen Mary was alive, ..." !
