My boss gives me an assignment involving the MS Outlook
2002 product..im having a hard time on how can i
accomplish such task. the main outline for the assignment
is : 1. COMPARE WAYS TO SHARE INFORMATION 2. PERMIT OTHER
TO ACCESS A FOLDER 3. ABOUT DELEGATE ACCESS 4. ABOUT
PUBLIC FOLDERS.

The first part of this assignement is: To have shared
calendar (appointment, work schedules...) and tasks
between all key employees in the Ductile Division.
The main objective of this is to start a new management
practice where managers (and gradually all employees with
access to PC) will have their appontments and key
activities logged on their outlook screen and we can share
it and know the appointments and the availability of each
other by just accessing the calendar of each others
throught the network. As a result of this, meetings can be
better scheduled and tasks can be better filed.
As a result of this, meetings can be better scheduled
and tasks can be better followed up. Futher, we can assign
tasks and distribute resposibilities through outlook.

Please help me have at least an idea on how can i
accomplish such assignment using the MS outlook 2002
application.
Thank you for your kind consideration...

A good place to start would be by revealing whether you're using Exchange as
your mail server.

dear ms. sue,
im so glad that i received a reply from you..i had ordered
Exchange on our MIS department for our mail server..would
you please give your precious time in telling me how can i
accomplish the assignment given to me..i dont have any
ideas on how outlook programming works we are specifically
using outlook 2002 with windows xp..i read some of
discussions here for some references..but still, i cant
get the idea..please help me..

No programming is required for basic sharing with Outlook 2002 and Exchange
Server. Basics like these are covered in the many good books available on
Outlook 2002 :

* Users can invite each others to meetings by clicking the Invite Attendees
button on an appointment and entering the names of people to be invited.

* You can create new folders in the Public Folders\All Public Folders
hierarchy with the File | New Folder command and grant permission for each
folder on its Properties dialog.

* Similarly, users can grant permissions to each others' folders on those
folders' Properties dialogs.

* If users also want to delegate permission to another user to respond to
messages and meeting requests on their behalf, they can do this on the
Delegates tab in Tools | Options.

Note except for the first, these features are only available to users who
are connecting to the Exchange Server with the Exchange service in their
mail profile.
