O.K. Iknow I'm a tard, but my boss just gave me an Access
data base not knowing that it is read only can I change
this by saving the template in a different name?

Did your boss give you the database on a CD? If so, then the default
behavior is that the MDB file is automatically made read-only. When you
copy the database to your hard drive, locate it using Windows Explorer.
Right-click on the file and from the popup menu, select Properties. The
Read-Only property is located in the lower left of the Properties window;
uncheck it if it is checked.
