Access Program is copying itself

I have a db program we had developed 2 years ago. It is used by a
number of users. Each time someone goes into the program, the db is
saving itself as dbXX.mdb. I know have 49 copies each with a change
made by the user.

This db was written in 2006 using Office 2003. We are now on 2007.

Any ideas why it does not save itself back on the orginal file?

It the Compact On Close feature enabled? If so, disable it.
