Access popup message message

I have an Excel program to retrieve data from Access.
Recently, I moved the applciation from Office 2000 to Office 2003.

The MS Access 2003 always popup message to open Access which does not prompt
in Access 2000.

Any way that I can disable the Access popup when I retrieve the data?

I got database has been used by admin or exclusive use from my Excel
application.
Are there any way to close the database?
