Hi,
I've been asked to set up a wireless AP or router for our company
vistors to access the Internet without any configuration on their
laptop. I'm a newbie and need your advice. We have T1 router connected
to ISP. I intend to connect the wireless AP/router on the T1 router. I
don't know that I should use a AP or a router. I bought a AP yesterday
and configured it with right setting. Then I connect it to the T1
router. Then I try to use my laptop to connect to it. My laptop is able
to see the AP, but when I try to connect to it. It gave something like
it can't renew the IP or assign an IP for my laptop? Then I tried to
manually assigned IP to my laptop and it works. I don't how the AP
works. Shouldn't my laptop use the same IP as the AP?
Thank you.

Jerry

Your laptop should use the different IP. However, what you should buy is the router instead of AP.

Robert,
Thanks. I bought a wireless router and it works. Thanks a lot. Why
AP doesn't work with this situation.

Thanks

Jerry
