We have a network of 3 PC’s and 2 network attached drives.
Two of the PC’s are using Vista home Premium SP1 and the other is using XP
SP2.
Shares on each of the Vista machines are not accessible from the other and
shares on one of the Vista machines is not accessible from the XP machine.
The problem appears to be with access permissions on one of the Vista
machines.
One reports: ‘Windows cannot access \\Machine\share’ with error 0x80070005
and ‘\\Machine\share is available but the user account you are logged in with
is denied access’
The other reports: ‘\\Machine\share is not accessible. You might not have
permission to use this network resource. Access is denied’
Network Discovery and File sharing are both set ON.
The access permissions on all 3 machines are set to ‘Everyone’ with ‘Full
Control’
The Windows Firewall is set to allow File and Printer Sharing.
Exactly the same name and password is being used on all 3 machines.
Any suggestions how to reolve this issue will be much appreciated.
