Hi,

I configured a PPP VPN to access my office server.
It works fine and I can access resources in the RRAS server.
But I want to access to other server in my office network and I can't reach
it.
What I need to do or configure in order to able this?

Thanks,
Pedro Gonçalves

It usually just works. Is the server in the same IP subnet as the RRAS
server? Can you ping it by its IP address? It may be a name resolution
problem.

Hi Bill,

Yes, it is in the same subnet, but I can't ping it. In fact I can't ping
even the RRAS server but I can access to it's resources.

I don't know why, and I really don't know much on this issue, but the RRAS
server IP address is 192.168.1.81 when it's network address is
192.168.1.200. I think that is normal...

I can access the RRAS server using either 192.168.1.81 or 192.168.1.200.
The other server I'm trying to connect has the IP address 192.168.1.201.
After a few changes here and there trying to make it work, now when I try to
access 192.168.1.201 it shows a login form asking username and password! I
can't understand why because I logged in using the administrator account
(the RRAS is the domain controller; the other server is a member server),
and no matter what username and password I provide it always shows again the
same login form!

Can you help me?

Thanks for your answer,
Pedro

If you can get to that stage, it isn't really a VPN issue. It is simply
a matter of the credentials you need to access the server. The credentials
your client machine will send to this server are the one's from your
original local logon, not the ones you used to establish theVPN. Setting up
a VPN just establishes an IP connection. It is not a logon operation.

Thanks Bill,

But the problem is that it shows a window to input username and password
(not domain), and even if I input administrator user and password it still
showing that input messagebox has the user and/or password were wrong. Do
you think that it can be because I don't provide domain name? What can be
missing?

Thanks ,
Pedro

If you really need a domain password, you enter it in the form
(e-mail address removed) , then enter the password.

Thanks, thanks!

That do it!!!

Regards,
Pedro
