Access "Not Responding" problem

Hi,

I have compacted and repaired my database twice, have
done a full virus scan, computer scan and defrag, but I'm
still having a problem adding a text field to a simple
form and saving it. It hangs my computer every time.

Any ideas? All help is greatly appreciated.

I have encountered this in the past with other DBs.

The only solution that I was able to come up with was to
create a new MDB and import all of the forms, queries,
tables, modules, access pages etc. into the new MDB.

Then try and re-add the control to the form you want and
see if this rectifies the problem.

Are you perchance using Access 2000 with no service packs?
I would strongly recommend service packs if you're going to develop in
Access 2000.
