Access importing fixed width text

I am trying to create an import specification for a fixed width text file. Whenever I try to save it, Access chops it off somewhere around byte 140 something (field 26). I would like to import a text file with a record length of 642 bytes. Is there some sort of length restriction that I don't know about? Do I have to create several text files of shorter length and then join them into one table after importing them?
 
There is a limit of 255 fields.
So I think 26 should be fine!

Send me a copy of the file and let me play with it.
I will let you know what I find.
