Our office is networked thru a server and most of the
computers run Office 2000 and 2 of the computers run
Office XP. Databases created via Access 2002 on the XP
systems can not be accessed on systems running Office
2000. Is there a fix or update for this. Thanks.

On a COPY of your database...

Tools>>Database Utilities>>Convert Database>>to Access 2000 file format

Access XP should still be able to open it. Thoroughlt test with the Access
2000 machines

Well... Access 2000 was released before Access2002 was written. It's a
bit much to expect that its writers should have anticipated the
changes in format for a system not yet written!

However, you can open the database in AccessXP and use Tools...
Database Utilities... Convert Database to convert the database from
AccessXP format to Access2000 format. XP is actually able to work
directly with A2000 format databases, and even uses that format as the
default; you'll lose a few advanced features but you're running on
2000 anyway.

Just leave the database in A2000 format until everyone has upgraded.

No, the products aren't backwards compatible. Tools/Database
Utilities/Convert Database will allow you to save the XP databases in the
earlier format. That's the only work-around I know of.
