Access Denied

Hello,

I find that all of my recently installed workstations in the Windows 2000
domain get an Access Denied message when they attempt to get the Group
Policy. I have verified the permissions on the SysVol and they are correct.

The user is not significant - even the Domain Admin fails to get the Policy.

The afflicted workstations show USERENV errors refelcting this condition.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks.

Upon further review, testing with the Group Policy Management Tool
shows that all workstations in the domain fail. the Group Policy Results
Wizard shows this failure under the "Component Status" section. The
message states: Group Policy Infrastructure failed due to the error
listed below. Access is denied.

In the logs, the USERENV errors state that the Group Policy file could
not be reached.

Perhaps this will be enough for someone to help out.

Thanks.

Most of the time, this will be a DNS issue. Verify that you can resolve
the domain name from the clients. Check your DNS log in event viewer.
Make sure you don't have an off-site DNS server configured on the
clients. Run dns diagnostics. Let us know if you find anything. Also
look for RPC errors.
