access denied

when tring to uninstall a program that is not listed in add/remove programs,
at the command prompt I get access denied. How can I resolve this? And why
as an adninistrator why am I not alloed to do what ever I want on my own
computer?

What program? Without knowing that, I can't answer you. Some legitimate
security programs have special uninstall routines and some malware will
resist being uninstalled. Post back with a more detailed description of
the program and what happens, including why you are at the command
prompt to uninstall a program instead of in Add/Remove Programs and the
complete text of any error messages.

Some processes (exe files) can get "SYSTEM" privileges, or something else,
then, can be difficult to delete them on XP.

If you know where they are installed (folder and files)(search them if you
don´t know) you can do a boot in Safe mode -> MSDOS, and go to the folder
(with <cd> command) and to delete the files with <del> command, get back
(<..cd>) and delete the folder wiht <rmdir> command.
Be sure to read the help of the commands line (help name) and if you are in
the correct folder BEFORE do the commands line to avoid errors, if you sre
NOT SURE how to do this is better DON´T do (in this place not have "undo").

there are acually 2 programs, windows media player and outlook express. both
programs are prone to "buffer overflow(s)" and are a risk to be "exploited"

Since i have not used outlook express ever, and can use nero 4 my player i
would like 2 get rid of the potential problems they are not in add/ remove
programs and when i uncheck the box in windows components the programs
always return. I found the correct path to the directorys of both programs
but am denied access at the cmd prompt.
