Some users cannot logon receiving "access denied" error. When their account
is looked at it is sometimes locked out even though this has been disabled.
Occasionally they will get locked out during the course of the business day.
Don't know where to begin to look!

Hi Scott-

So you previously had an account lockout policy specified? If so, and if
the setting has been changed, are you certain that the new policy setting
replicated successfully to all domain controllers?

An alternate method of checking on each domain controller would be the NET
ACCOUNTS command on at the command line. Results would be like:

Microsoft Windows [Version 5.2.3790]
(C) Copyright 1985-2003 Microsoft Corp.

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>net accounts
Force user logoff how long after time expires?: Never
Minimum password age (days): 1
Maximum password age (days): 42
Minimum password length: 7
Length of password history maintained: 24
Lockout threshold: Never
Lockout duration (minutes): 30
Lockout observation window (minutes): 30
Computer role: BACKUP
The command completed successfully.
