access denied while installing from "have disk"

Hello,
I have full admin privileges. While installing printers
from a CD, after Xp has copied all the necessary files
onto the HD, at the moment when you should see in the
printers window the new printer popping up there is
instead a message from the ADD printer Wizard
saying "could not install printer: access denied". and the
printer is not installed. This happened with the
EpsonStylusPhoto870, the HPdeskjet995c, Acrobat 5.0
(Acrobat distiller printer). This issue doesnt happen if I
install from the Windows list or I install a network
printer (i.e. if I dont use the "have disk" feature)
What could it be?
The OS is WindowsXP Pro
