Access Denied - Unable to Connect Error

Good Day,
I have been struggling with this problem for a while, and
it seems very strange to me.
When trying to print from a Win2K Pro laptop to our W2K
printer server, I get the error ' Access denied, unable to
connect'. However, even this message comes up printing
still works, even though the user cannot see any jobs in
the queue. I've tried different local spool permissions,
full local permissions, different printers, looked through
the local policy ( we don't have AD), registry, applied
SP4, but I cannot find anything?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
