Out of the blue I suddenly no longer have access to my documents folder.
When I check the security settings for the folder it has a check mark next
to all the types of access for my user name but whenever I click on the
folder I get a message saying that I have no access to it. Any and all help
would surely be appreciated.

I did a system restore from a restore point way back when I know that the
problem didn't exist but that didn't help.

Hi,

Hopefully this will answer your problems

The reference you provided deals with problems arising from upgrading from
Windows XP to Vista. In my case I have a clean Vista Premium install.

Luckily I discovered my problem and fixed it. When I right clicked on
Documents and selected Properties then selected security, along with my name
and administrator there was an entry for Everybody but with no permissions
checked. I removed the entry for everybody, closed everything out then left
clicked on documents. It now opened as it should.

Thanks anyway for your help as I was afraid that I would have to do another
clean install to fix the problem.
