I have a printer- and file-sharing turned on in XP Home. File sharing is
working normally but I can't connect to the shared printer from another
computer. When trying to connect I'm asked for username and password but
none of the usernames of the computer sharing the printer work.

I didn't find any properties for printer privileges in XP Home. In XP
Help I read that clicking the printer properties with the CTRL-key
pressed should show security tab in the properties panel but that
didn't work, maybe that is only in XP Pro?

How could I make this work?

Last time this happened to me, my password had expired. Delete the shared printer from
your machine and then re-install it. If you can't reinstall it, simply unshare it and
then share it again. You should then be able to install it. When asked for a new
password, enter your usual password in all three fields.

I'm not asked for a password when installing a printer.
