Over the last few month I have been unable to access my Owner folder in
Documents and Settings, There Items in there that I need to access and
delete, but every time I use the uninstall program and a portion of a given
program is in he folder it give me the " Access Denied" pop up. I am the
Administrator for the PC (Well it is mine) with full admin rights to
everything but this folder, for some reason another folder was created calle
"Owner.Superdesktop" Superdesktop being the name I gave the computer. Can
somebody please help with tis situation? I'm beginning to wonder if the
folder has been hijacked by some hacker and I've been locked out. I have used
firewalls, virus software and spyware programs since the PC was plugged into
the mains, but you never know. Please help.

Hi Wesley
Thank you for your help, but it didn't.
I followed the instructions, but I do not get a security tab, just General,
Sharing and customize. Where do I go from here?

Thanks again.

Andy,

You have XP Home. Did you boot into Safe Mode first?

How to take ownership of a folder
Note You must be logged on to the computer with an account that has
administrative credentials. If you are running Microsoft Windows XP Home
Edition, you must start the computer in safe mode, and then log on with an
account that has Administrative rights to have access to the Security tab.

To use a Safe Boot option, follow these steps:
Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a
computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you
can press the F8 key when you the Boot Menu appears.

NOTE: If you have difficulty getting to the Safe mode menu command, press F8
repeatedly after you turn on the computer.

Select an option when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and then
press ENTER.
When the Boot menu appears again, and the words "Safe Mode" appear in blue
at the bottom, select the installation that you want to start, and then
press ENTER.

SAFEBOOT_OPTION=Minimal
