Can you open Explorer and see the hard drive listed? If so, right
(secondary) click on it, choose properties, select the Security tab, and try
to add the Everyone group with Full Control. If you cannot add it, click the
Advanced button, select the Owner tab, and take ownership of the object. You
should then be able to add the Everyone group as described above.
Confirm the permissions in the folders detailed in Knowledge Base article
244600 Default NTFS Permissions in Windows 2000

Upon completion, test and see if the problem persists.
