How do I reset the functions that have been locked out by administrator on my
home xp program!? I get an error message when trying to go into my regedit,
and task manager functions that says access has been denied by system
administrator. this is my home box, I can't remember doing it, and can't seem
to find my way back to where those items are set

Hi Rick,

If you've not turned ON those restrictions, then it may be caused by
viruses/malware. This is usually caused by malware. Trend Micro's Sysclean
package (free), it's capable of eliminating keyloggers, trojans etc. Full
instructions at:

Once your system is clean, remove the Task Manager and registry editing
restrictions:
Regedit - http://windowsxp.mvps.org/tweakuirest.htm
Task Manager - http://windowsxp.mvps.org/taskmanager_error.htm
