Have any of you guys got the Access Database Synchronizer sample to work on
Vista? I got to work without any problems on a XP SP2 desktop together with
a WM5 mobile device.

For my Vista setup:
i'm using Vista and WM6. I tried adding port 1024 to my firewall exceptions
but that didn't work so i tried disabling my firewall and even that didn't
work. Everything seems to be in place the System.mdw is pointed to the right
file. I use http://<my_host_name>:1024/. I have a partnership with the
device setup as well.

I get the error "A request to send data to the computer running IIS has
failed"

Any idea's or experiences with anything similar?

I finally got some progress on the desktop setup part. When I open
http://<my_host_name>:1024 in the browser (desktop), the message "Microsoft
SQL Server Compact Edition Server Agent" is displayed. But the device still
can't can't connect to it

Any ideas?

I tried that to. But that doesn't work, even on my XP SP2 machine where the
Access Database Synchronizer actually does work.

So frustrating!!! I got it to work fine on the Windows Mobile 6 Professional
emulator but not on a HTC TyTN II (which runs wm6)...

I'm having the exact same problem. The XP installation worked fine with
windows mobile 5 and 6. Has anyone made any progress on this problem??

Cheers!

Well I started a support case on this with Microsoft. After hours of talking
and emailing back and forth, they just said that the problem was in their
software and it would require work from the Vista, SQL Server, and Windows
CE teams. I don't expect a fix out anytime soon. I'm guessing they'll
release a Vista patch (or maybe even wait for SP1) and a new ADS release.

Perhaps they are putting most of their efforts into Microsoft Sync Services.
This should be able to sync to any ADO client which I guess would include
Access. Only problem is that it doesn't work for PDA's yet.

Also, the old way actually worked quite well for me with XP.

And they call Vista progress. Hmmmmm.
