I Would like to access my computer from the internet when I am away
from home.
How Do I go about doing this.
Setup
Windows XP Pro (sp 2 Installed)
DSL Internet Connection
Router Tren NET TW100BRF114U
Thanks For The Help
Since your running XP Pro you could use Remote Desktop [RDC] to remotely
access/control your computer. See this page for help. Post further
questions concerning Remote Desktop to the
microsoft.public.windowsxp.work_remotely news group.

* Basically you enable RDC on the XP Pro home PC.
* Make sure TCP Port 3389 is open/forwarded through any firewall and/or
router the XP Pro home PC is behind.
* Call using the public IP of the router or DSL modem. You can also use
a fully qualified domain name [FQDN]. Check that link for details.
In your case you may need to configure port forwarding through the DSL
modem/router and the Tren NET device. Its possible your DSL modem is in
a bridge mode and you will not need to setup port forwarding through it.
Check your documentation to verify that.
