Access and multi-users

Our access database is currently set where if one user is
in it, no one else is allowed. How can this be changed?
 
You might want to make sure that your user are not opening
the database exclusively. To set the default to shared, do
the following:
1. Open the database
2. Click Tools
3. Click Option

A dialog box will open.

4. Click the advance tab and ensure that the Default Open
Mode is set to shared.

5. Click OK.

Note: You can still open the database exclusively but it
takes an extra step. When opening the database. Ensure
your user have a shortcut icon on their desktop that goes
directly to the database and they won't be given this
option when opening.

Sounds as if you've opened for exclusive use. In Access 97 and 2002, this
can be set as a default for opening databases. I don't have Access 2000 on
this machine, but assume it has the same setting.

To reset it, on the menu, Tools | Options choose the Advanced tab and click
the Radio Button for Shared under Default Open Mode on each users machine.
