I have a database (2002 format) with contact information
including an email address. Is there a way to be able to
send an email to the contact by clicking on a button.

I tried setting up the field as a hyperlink and the
adding the "mailto:" to the beginning of the email
address, and that worked fine EXCEPT when I try to do a
mass mailing using my database as the source (it includes
the hyperlink "#" symbols in the email address when
merging).

Thanks for any help in advance!

Have a look at the Email Senate sample database on my website which does
exactly what you want:

BTW, this was recoded from an old database so many of the Senate email
addresses are no longer valid.
