Crystal can be used on a Jet database, commonly called an "Access database".
That is usually done when accessing the Jet database from some other
language or development tool (e.g., classic VB , for example VB6).

Crystal is rarely used when the user access to a Jet database is via Access
itself. That is because Access has a very easy-to-learn and very capable
reporting feature of its own.

No, that is not what I said. You can use Crystal with Jet databases (often
called Access databases), but not many people do use it with Access/Jet. One
example where it might be appropriate would be if your users have been
distributed Access MDE files ("compiled" to tokenized state, and Reports
which have modules, are locked out of design view, so can't create a new
one). You could set up Crystal for those users to Report on the shared data.

And, this newsgroup is about Access' reporting features, not Crystal's
reporting features, so this is not a good place to seek answers about
Crystal Reports -- the vendor of Crystal ought to have a website, possibly
forums or their own newsgroups, or there ought to be a USENET newsgroup for
it.

Microsoft does not own Crystal Reports, nor support the product, although
they have, in the past, included a light version or a previous version of
Crystal with classic Visual Basic.
