I am running multiple versions of Access, including A97, on the Windows XP
operating system without significant problems.

There is a web article on the expected product support period at
Microsoft.com, but I can't find it now. Suffice to say, Access 97 continues
to remain popular among developers and there will be support here in the
newsgroups for some time to come.

Hello Russell,

Information on the MS Product Support LifeCycle can be found at:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;en-us;LifeOfficeFam

And, as Arvin indicated, Office 97 will run just fine on Windows XP.

Occasionally, after installing Office 97 on Windows XP or Windows 2000, some
users receive the following message: "Microsoft Access can't start because
there is no license for it on this machine." This problem is due, of all
things, to a font. The fix for that problem, should it occur, is found at:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;141373
