Access 97 rtf report auto converts to xls as attachment

I'm using Access97 and I have 20 + users. All users use Win XP, Office 97 and
Lotus Notes for e-mail. Various reports are generated and e-mailed directly
from my db through Lotus Notes. The report from the db that is placed in
e-mail as an attachment is in rtf format. I have 1 user that their system
converts the rtf attachment to an xls attachment automatically and the report
basically becomes unreadable. I have not been able to determine the cause of
this problem to correct it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
