Access 97 never was a free program.
You bought it from a Microsoft reseller.

We want Access 97. If it is available we are ready to purchase. I think as
MSDN subscriber we should be able to download Access 97

Sorry it is a copyright protected product and you must have a license to
use it.

Check out some of the big computer shows-sales. They often have
original copies of outdated software. Assuming they were legal copies to
begin with they are still legal.

While there are some good reasons for needing Access 97, for the most
part it would be better to use a current version.

Access 97 and Access 2000 are not available
as download on MSDN.

Take it up with Microsoft.

In the meantime, eBay may be your best bet...

* Only for MSDN Universal subscription and not other MSDN subscriptions,
AFAIK.

* The software available through MSDN Universal subscription is supposed to
be used for development & testing only even though there are some exceptions
regarding Windows XP and Office XP.

* I haven't checked but MSDN Universal Subscription DownLoads may not have
Access97 either since main-stream support for Access97 has ended a few years
back.

If you have MSDN subscription, you should check with the MSDN Support Group
in your area. Most likely, you can contact through the local Microsoft
office.

If you have an MSDN Universal subscription, Access 97 should be on your
CD/DVD distribution. Otherwise, log on to MSDN with your current
subscription number and search for it. Follow MSDN's instructions to obtain
help if you have problems. Remember the CAVEAT: MSDN downloads may be used
only for development purposes, not for production use.

Unfortunately not.

A97 as well as A00 have been taken off the market and also from MSDN,
because of the Java deal. For details see
http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/java/.
Actually none of these access versions have dependencies on MSJVM, but it
is included in both packages.

So if the OP is lucky he can find something on the 2nd hand market.

On MSDN you will currently find all versions since A2, except A97 and A00.
