Hi All,

Is it possible to run both Access 97 and Access 2000 on
the same computer. Cut a long story short one part of
organisation uses 97 and one part uses 2000 due to
computers not having high enough specification to run
2000. We now have the situation were some users need to
run both. Is this possible or will there be function
probelms.. any advice will be greatful

It is possible, but Access 97 must be installed in a different directory (eg
C:/Program Files/MS Office 97). You may encounter an apparent licensing
problem when installing Access 97, which is actually caused by the presence
of the Hatten font, installed by Office 2000. This will help:

Most databases will convert from Access 97 to 2000, but there is no backward
compatibility, so it's not possible to run the same database with both
versions. These machines must be really low spec - I'm running Access 97
and Office 2000 Pro quite happily on my old machine which is an Athlon 400
MHz with 256MB RAM.
